The International Connections team is a group of volunteers at FBC Durham who enjoy getting to know and serve people from all over the world.
We host a variety of activities and events in the Raleigh-Durham area that provide opportunities for internationals to practice English,
form friendships, learn about American culture, and study the Bible.

English Conversation Classes
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30pm
Begins Wednesday, September 11
We offer classes at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels to help internationals improve their conversational English. Topics include culture, ways to relate with American friends, navigating life in the United States, and general conversation topics for practice.
International Ladies
Thursdays (once a month), 9:30 - 11:30am
Begins Thursday, September 19
International Ladies is for international women to meet other international and American women for friendship and English Conversation. Additional dates to be determined. Childcare is provided for children ages 4 and under!
Conversation Partners
Virtual or In-Person
We will work to pair international friends with American volunteers for conversational English practice at a time that works for you.
Meetings can either be in-person or virtual.
Volunteers
There are many ways to connect with and serve the nations in Durham! In addition to serving in the patterns listed above, there are opportunities to help refugees, host internationals for dinner, pick up new students from the airport, and more.
