A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF 1 Corinthians

Acts 18 introduces us to the port metropolis of Corinth, the chief city of Greece at the time, where Paul was commanded by Christ (1 Cor 18:9-11) to establish and nurture a church. After a year and a half of teaching them about Jesus the Messiah, Paul left to start other churches.  When he heard of the division and dysfunction that swept through the church in his absence, Paul wrote them to rebuke and correct the fundamental distortions that the Corinthians had allowed to enter into the church. In combating their source of factionalism and false wisdom, Paul reminded them that the “Word of the Cross” (1 Cor 1:18) is the basis for the church’s unity, holiness, freedom, worship, and hope.

Job & Suffering

The reality of suffering in the Christian life presents some of the greatest challenges to our faith, but also some of the greatest opportunities for our faith to grow. The Book of Job was given by the grace of God to us to help us learn how to suffer well by drawing near to Christ as we walk through the valleys and pass through the fires of pain. Come and join us for a BFL class that seeks to draw out some of those timeless truths from Job.

Internal & External Journey

To the ends of the earth

This 6-week class will provide a biblical foundation for God’s worldwide mission of salvation for the glory of Christ and joy for the nations. Each week, we will work through a key passage of Scripture and consider its missiological truths and its applications for the church today. This class will be taught by a rotation of teachers: Matt Harford, Kevin Schaub, Josh Manley, Thomas Berezoski and Adam Chesson.

A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF 2 Corinthians

After learning of the centrality of the cross of Christ and its source of life and unity for the church in 1 Corinthians, Paul addresses a variety of issues confronting this dysfunctional church in 2 Corinthians. We will learn God's practical wisdom in forgiveness, purity, generosity, and a real time confrontation with false teachers. We will see a clear presentation of gospel ministry and the superior glory of the New Covenant. Learn with us as we follow this case study of fruitfulness for God's Kingdom.

7 Perfect letters to 7 imperfect churches: a study of Revelation 1-3

We certainly believe that God speaks, that He speaks perfect words, and that He speaks perfect words to imperfect people. But, what does God say to imperfect churches? This seven-week class will carefully study what Jesus says to the seven distinct churches in Revelation 2-3. We will seek to discern what we can receive as an encouragement and what we should receive as a gracious rebuke. Whether it is an encouragement or rebuke, may we hear what the Spirit says to the churches!

Love one another: The one another passages of Scripture

Ephesians 4:15-16 describes how the body of Christ builds itself up in love when it is working properly. The one another passages give us some direction on how we do that. Come join us as we study a few of the most common one another passages in Scripture.
