Mike McGregor

Assistant Pastor

Mike came to faith in Christ during his junior year of high school through the influence of several close friends. Though he grew up in a wonderful Christian home, it was a talk by apologist Josh McDowell that God used to open his eyes to the gospel. A Baltimore native, Mike graduated from Towson University where he studied Mass Communication – Journalism. After college he served on staff with Young Life for eight years in Maryland. Following a pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C., Mike served on staff at Cheverly Baptist Church as a Pastoral Assistant. In the Spring of 2020 Mike earned an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary – D.C., and in the summer of 2020 became the Director of College Ministry at First Baptist in Durham. He became an elder in summer of 2023.

Mike is very happily married to Kelly and they have four amazing kids. When he isn’t working or blogging he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, reading, golfing, listening to music, playing music, watching movies or sports, and running.
